1. Introduction

HilalGO ('HilalGO,' 'we,' 'our,' or 'us') provides tools and community features designed to support halal discovery, community activity, and everyday utility, including halal place discovery, grocery and restaurant discovery, mosque discovery, prayer tools, check-ins, posts, reviews, ratings, saved places, and related support services.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you may have.

By using HilalGO, you acknowledge that your information may be collected, used, and shared as described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • the HilalGO mobile applications;
  • the HilalGO website and landing pages;
  • beta, waitlist, and support workflows;
  • check-ins, posts, uploads, reviews, ratings, comments, bookmarks, and account features;
  • communications you send to us, including support requests.

This Privacy Policy does not govern third-party services that may be linked from HilalGO or integrated into HilalGO and governed by their own privacy notices.

When you create or use a HilalGO account, we may collect:

  • location history related to app activity, where needed to power check-ins, place discovery, or safety and fraud review;
  • selected or searched locations.

Location information may be used to support features such as prayer times, Qibla direction, mosque discovery, restaurant discovery, grocery discovery, nearby check-ins, trust signals, local ranking, and relevance.

D. User content and community activity

If you use community features, we may collect and store content you create or submit, including:

  • check-ins;
  • posts;
  • reviews;
  • ratings;
  • captions;
  • comments;
  • photos or media uploads;
  • saved places, bookmarks, and lists;
  • reports you submit about content, users, or places.

E. Place and interaction data

We may collect information about how you interact with places and listings, such as:

  • places you search for, view, open, save, follow, or revisit;
  • check-in timing and place interactions;
  • taps, navigation, and in-app engagement with place cards and place detail pages;
  • trust-related inputs or verification prompts associated with places.

F. Device, log, and technical data

We may automatically collect technical information such as:

  • device type, operating system, browser, and app version;
  • IP address;
  • language and timezone settings;
  • crash reports, diagnostics, and performance logs;
  • referral URLs or campaign data;
  • general usage analytics.

G. Support and communications

If you contact us, we may collect:

  • the contents of your message;
  • attached screenshots or files;
  • support history and follow-up records.

H. Waitlist, beta, and marketing data

If you join a waitlist, beta list, or marketing list, we may collect:

  • show nearby restaurants, groceries, mosques, and relevant places;
  • support prayer time calculations and related faith tools;
  • help verify or contextualize check-ins;
  • reduce misuse, spam, fake check-ins, or abuse;
  • improve local ranking, trust signals, and relevance.

You can control location access through your device settings. If you disable location permissions, some features may be limited, inaccurate, or unavailable.

7. User Content, Uploads, and Community Features

If you post content to HilalGO, you understand that some content may be visible to other users depending on the feature and your settings. This can include:

  • your display name and profile image;
  • check-ins and place activity;
  • reviews, ratings, captions, comments, and uploads;
  • public-facing trust or community contributions tied to a place.

We may review, moderate, remove, restrict, or investigate content or accounts to enforce our rules, protect the community, or comply with legal obligations.

8. Third-Party Data Sources and Services

HilalGO may rely on third-party services to operate certain features. These may include services for:

  • hosting and infrastructure;
  • authentication;
  • analytics and diagnostics;
  • mapping, geolocation, and place data;
  • customer support;
  • storage and media delivery;
  • crash reporting and security.

For example, HilalGO may display place information, map content, or related data supplied through Google Maps Platform or similar providers. Third-party services may process some information under their own terms and privacy policies.

9. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

A. With service providers

We may share information with vendors and processors that help us operate HilalGO, such as infrastructure, authentication, analytics, support, communications, security, and storage providers.

B. With other users

If you use community features, certain profile and content information may be visible to other users, such as your display name, profile image, check-ins, reviews, ratings, comments, photos, and other public-facing activity.

C. With place or platform partners

We may share limited information where reasonably necessary to operate platform features, support listings, investigate claims, or manage place quality, fraud, or abuse.

D. For legal reasons

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with law, regulation, legal process, or lawful requests;
  • enforce our terms and policies;
  • detect, investigate, or prevent fraud, abuse, security issues, or illegal conduct;
  • protect users, HilalGO, or the public.

E. In a business transfer

  • some content or metadata may remain where necessary to preserve community integrity, prevent manipulation, document moderation history, or protect other users.

Deletion may not be immediate and may require verification, review, and a processing period.

13. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as:

  • accessing the personal data we hold about you;
  • correcting inaccurate data;
  • deleting certain data;
  • objecting to or restricting certain processing;
  • withdrawing consent where processing relies on consent;
  • exporting or receiving a copy of certain data;

HilalGO may process or store information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we will take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for using strong passwords and secure devices.

HilalGO is not directed to children below the minimum age required by applicable law to use the service. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, we may delete or restrict that information.

17. Third-Party Links and Services

HilalGO may contain links to third-party websites, products, services, or policies. We are not responsible for the privacy or content practices of those third parties.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
