1. Introduction
HilalGO is designed as a respectful community for halal-conscious discovery. Users may share posts, check-ins, photos, reviews, ratings, place information, halal trust signals, and other contributions that help others make better decisions.
To keep HilalGO useful and safe, every user is responsible for the content they submit and the way they interact with others. These Community Guidelines apply to the HilalGO app, website, beta features, public pages, and related community or support features.
By using HilalGO, you agree to follow these guidelines as well as our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
2. Be Respectful
Treat other users, business owners, restaurants, groceries, mosques, communities, and HilalGO team members with respect.
Do not post, upload, share, or send content that includes:
- harassment, bullying, abuse, or intimidation;
- hate speech or discriminatory content;
- threats, encouragement of violence, or harmful behavior;
- sexually explicit or obscene material;
- spam, scams, deceptive promotions, or misleading links;
- personal attacks or targeted insults;
- private information about another person without permission.
HilalGO may review, restrict, hide, remove, preserve, or escalate content or accounts that violate these rules.
3. Post Accurate Check-Ins and Place Information
Check-ins and place contributions should reflect real experiences and accurate information.
Do not:
- create fake check-ins;
- tag places you did not visit or interact with;
- manipulate ratings, reviews, trust signals, or community activity;
- submit misleading restaurant, grocery, mosque, product, ingredient, or place information;
- impersonate a business, user, halal authority, certifying body, or HilalGO team member;
- use multiple accounts to manipulate community activity.
HilalGO may use location, account, device, content, and moderation signals to protect the integrity of check-ins and place contributions.
4. Halal Integrity and Certification Claims
HilalGO’s halal trust layer depends on responsible community participation.
Do not submit false, exaggerated, misleading, or unverified halal claims. Do not claim that a restaurant, grocery, product, ingredient, or place is officially halal-certified unless you have a reasonable basis for that claim.
You must not:
- claim official halal certification without evidence;
- upload or misuse halal certification logos or documents;
- impersonate a halal certifying body or authority;
- make fake halal certification claims;
- intentionally misrepresent a place, product, menu item, ingredient, or business;
- manipulate halal trust prompts, badges, ratings, or community signals.
Unless HilalGO clearly states otherwise, community contributions, place listings, user posts, check-ins, ratings, and third-party place data are not official halal certification.
5. Photos and Media
Photos and other media should be relevant, safe, and appropriate.
Do not upload media that:
- is unrelated to the place, check-in, post, or contribution;
- includes explicit, violent, hateful, or abusive content;
- violates another person’s privacy;
- contains misleading certification, menu, product, or place information;
- infringes someone else’s rights;
- shows private individuals in a harmful or invasive way.
HilalGO may review, hide, restrict, or remove photos and media when needed for safety, legal compliance, moderation, or community trust.
6. Reporting, Blocking, and Hiding Content
HilalGO provides tools to help users manage safety and community quality.
Users may be able to:
- report posts, check-ins, users, or other content;
- block users;
- hide content from their own feed;
- request removal of their own content;
- contact support about safety, abuse, privacy, account, or technical issues.
Reporting content does not guarantee immediate removal. HilalGO may review reports and take action based on the nature of the issue, available information, applicable rules, safety concerns, and legal requirements.
7. How HilalGO Moderates
HilalGO may use automated tools, community reports, manual review, and safety signals to protect the app and community.
HilalGO may take actions including, but not limited to:
- rejecting content before posting;
- reducing visibility of content;
- hiding content from feeds;
- removing or restricting content;
- preserving content or records for safety, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal, or compliance reasons;
- restricting account features;
- suspending or terminating accounts;
- escalating serious issues to the appropriate channels where necessary.
HilalGO is not required to monitor every piece of content before it appears, but we may act when we identify content or behavior that violates our policies or harms the community.
